Research Skills Acquired: 18 years of research experience mostly undertaken at INESC Porto and partly funded by the Portuguese government and the EC, having had a stay of 6 months at CERN (Geneva) and of 18 months at TILab in Turin (formerly known as CSELT); participation and contributions to the MPEG activities; involved in the preparation of proposals and in the co-ordination of several R&D projects of the 4th, 5th and 6th Framework Programme (namely the ACTS project AC078 ATLANTIC, IST-2000-28567 CONTESSA, IST-FP6-IP-507637 ENTHRONE, IST-FP6-NoE-506946 VISNET), as well as in Portuguese projects (PRAXIS _ VIDION, FCT _ CORAL, POE - ePIC).
